The hospital and medical center are finalizing a deal to buy a two-story 90,000-square-foot building in the Warm Springs area, according to the newspaper.
Donald Pipkin, head of strategic management at Washington Hospital Healthcare System, said OB-GYN, urgent care, pediatrics and primary care may also be offered at the proposed site in the city’s innovation districts where research and development campuses are planned and developers are building thousands of homes, the paper said.
Preliminary zoning approval has been granted by the city, and the hospital and health system can now move forward with buying the property and seeking city design permits.
The project could create 245 jobs in the area, according to a city staff report, the newspaper said.
