The $20 million hospital, which held its groundbreaking this week, is expected to open in May 2012. In addition to the surgery center, the hospital will have 20 new beds, an emergency department and medical office building.
Funding for the project comes from a USDA rural development loan, voter-approved county bonds and Fillmore County Hospital funds.
