OR Manager collected data from 196 ASC leaders from March 28 to May 31. Respondents were either OR Manager subscribers or part of an external list.
Three findings:
1. Twenty-one percent of ASC leaders plan to retire between 2019 and 2023.
2. Despite the fact that 51 percent of last year’s respondents said they planned to retire by 2027, just 45 percent of this year’s respondents said they expect to retire by 2028.
3. More than half of ASC leaders — 55 percent — plan to retire in 2028 or later.
