Debra M. Sacco, DMD, MD, who practices at the Davis Ambulatory Surgery Center in Durham, N.C., is the first woman elected to the AAOMS Board of Trustees and will serve in District III, which includes southeastern states. Dr. Sacco is the chief of oral and maxillofacial surgery at Duke Regional Hospital and has served in the AAOMS House of Delegates. She also has been appointed to the AAOMS committee on practice management.
Previously, Dr. Sacco was a faculty member at the University of North Carolina. She graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine and UNC School of Medicine.
