Four growth details to know:

1. The ASC market is projected to be worth between $52 billion and $55 billion by 2025.

2. Physicians at ASCs perform more than half of all outpatient procedures, with volume expected to increase 15 percent by 2028. More growth is expected in ASC settings than hospital outpatient departments.

3. The specialty that’s projected to see the greatest procedure volume growth is spine, which is expected to grow 10 percent through 2022.

4. Patient consumerism will play a role in ASC procedure volume growth, with both payers and patients favoring the low-cost setting of an ASC over a hospital.
