Illinois board approves health system’s request to relocate ASC — 3 insights

Quincy, Ill.-based Blessing Health System received the state’s approval to relocate its surgery center closer to its campus, local NBC affiliate WGEM reports.

What you should know:

1. Blessing Health System currently operates a surgery center in a building owned by Quincy Medical Group. Blessing will end its lease, which expires in 2023, early.

2. Blessing will move its surgery center into a standalone two-story building connected to its main campus.

3. Blessing will begin building the 36,000-square-foot building in the space that currently houses the physician’s parking lot. The hospital expects to open the building in January 2022.
