Healthcare providers in Washington who were found guilty of criminal behavior — such as fraudulent billing for services not rendered, practicing medicine without medical licenses and unprofessional conduct — received differing penalties. Some individuals’ disciplinary actions are still pending. The news release has broken up the disciplinary actions taken against each provider by county. Physicians found guilty of committing fraud include:
• Jason C. Schroeder from Chelan County, who was found guilty of billing for services not rendered among other indictments. Dr. Schroeder will have his license monitored for three years.
• David M. Vokes from Clark County, who was charged with allegedly using a false social security number to receive registration. Disciplinary actions are pending.
• Jayne E. Helle from Spokane County, who was charged with unprofessional conduct and allegedly practicing as a hypnotherapist without a license from 1998-2007. Disciplinary actions are pending.
