AI-device developer earns 2nd FDA approval

Artificial intelligence device-maker NinePoint Medical received FDA approval for its NvisionVLE Imaging System.

Surgeons can use the imaging system in the pancreas and bile duct to capture real-time images of the tissue surface and subsurface. The technology allows gastroenterologists to evaluate tissue in regions that traditional medical imaging technologies can’t capture.

NinePoint earned FDA approval for the first AI-based imaging technology in gastroenterology in November 2018.
