Tennessee surgery center seeks approval for $2.3M facility; USPI potentially involved

Franklin, Tenn.-based Cool Springs Surgical Associates consultant Mark Knoblauch wants to build a $2.3 million ASC in Murfreesboro, Tenn., the NashvillePost reports.

What you should know:

1. The surgery center will be a single-specialty ophthalmology surgery center with one operating room and one procedure room.

2. Mr. Knoblauch is considering partnering with Addison, Texas-based United Surgical Partners International for the center.

3. There are no ophthalmology ASCs in Rutherford or Williamson counties, where Murfreesboro is located.

4. The state Health Services and Development Agency will consider Mr. Knoblauch’s certificate of need Aug. 26.
