Nurse anesthetists can be top earners without doctorates — 3 quick insights

Nurse anesthetist roles are among the 14 top-paying healthcare jobs that don’t require a doctorate, according to CNBC Make It.

Three quick insights:

1. The median annual wage for nurse anesthetists is $167,950, and the field is expected to grow 16 percent through 2026.

2. Nurse anesthetists must obtain a registered nursing license and a master’s degree from an accredited medical program. One year of clinical experience is a prerequisite for admission into those programs.

3. Physician assistant, nurse practitioner and dental hygienist roles also don’t require a doctorate but have median annual wages of at least $69,000.
