GI leader to know: Dr. Ezra Burstein of UT Southwestern Medical Center

 
Ezra Burstein, MD, PhD, is the gastroenterology division chief at Dallas-based UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Dr. Burstein’s research focuses on molecular immunology, including the mechanisms that influence inflammatory bowel disease.

He is a past research fellow at the Vaccine Research Center at the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Burstein is also a professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

He earned his medical degree from Cayetano Heredia University in Lima, Peru. Dr. Burstein completed his gastroenterology fellowship at Ann Arbor-based University of Michigan.
