The report’s data was collected from 1,609 ASCs (999 multispecialty and 610 single-specialty) in every state except Vermont from July 1, 2018, through Sept. 30, 2018. Organizations such as the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association, Ambulatory Surgical Centers of America, Westchester, Ill.-based Regent Surgical Health and Deerfield, Ill.-based Surgical Care Affiliates agreed to collect and submit data.
The rate of incidents is calculated per 1,000 ASC admissions.
