Sutter Health, Anthem Blue Cross resolve contract tiff — 65 surgery centers, medical groups & hospitals regain coverage

Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health secured new contracts with Anthem Blue Cross for its 65 hospitals, medical groups and outpatient surgery centers, according to the Sacramento Business Journal.

Four details:

1. Effective through 2022, the new contracts apply to Blue Cross’ HMO, PPO and Medi-Cal plans.

2. Blue Cross and Sutter began negotiating new contracts last fall.

3. Blue Cross ended its Medi-Cal contracts Feb. 1, affecting about 12,000 patients. The organizations continued negotiations about Blue Cross’ HMO and PPO plans.

4. Sutter Health and Blue Cross both declined to provide statements on the negotiations to SBJ.
