GI leader to know: Dr. William Sandborn of UC San Diego Health

 
William Sandborn, MD, is the gastroenterology division chief at University of California San Diego Health.

Dr. Sandborn directs UC San Diego Health’s Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center.

He is also clinical operations vice chair in UC San Diego’s department of medicine and a Clinical Practice Oversight Board member.

Dr. Sandborn is a medical professor at UC San Diego School of Medicine, conducts inflammatory bowel disease clinical trials and leads a team of study coordinators and physicians.

Dr. Sandborn worked at the gastroenterology and hepatology division at Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic before joining UC San Diego Health.
