Payers will adjust strategy to manage ASC costs, CompPharma leader predicts

Workers’ compensation is a “soft target” for ASCs, hospitals and other facilities that efficiently maximize revenue, CompPharma Co-owner Joe Paduda said in a Managed Care Matters post.

CompPharma is a consortium of pharmacy benefit managers working to control pharmacy costs in workers’ compensation. Mr. Paduda shared this prediction:

“…most payers are woefully unprepared. That has to change, and fast. Payers will be seeking out, and contracting with, vendors that can help them better manage facility costs.”
