Employee charged with stealing thousands from Lincoln Southwest Surgical Center: 4 details

Rhonda Lyman, a Lincoln (Neb.) Southwest Surgery Center employee for nearly 10 years, is accused of stealing $29,000 from the center, according to the Lincoln Journal Star.

1. The Lancaster County Attorney’s Office charged Ms. Lyman with felony theft.

2. The surgery center’s administrator allegedly discovered discrepancies in Ms. Lyman’s accounting; the bank deposits didn’t coincide with the cash taken in, according to court records. Ms. Lyman was responsible for the center’s bookkeeping.

3. Ms. Lyman allegedly kept patients’ cash payments and altered Lincoln Southwest Surgery Center’s bank deposit information between January 2016 and October 2018, according to investigators.

4. Ms. Lyman reportedly turned herself in. After her arrest, she was released.
