$15K raised for ASC employees devastated by California wildfires — 3 insights

A campaign to aid Chico, Calif.-based Skyway Surgery Center and Chico-based Orthopedic Associates of Northern California employees affected by the Paradise Camp Fire has raised $15,615 in one month.

Here’s what you should know:

1. Dyanna Johnson organized the OANC-SSC Camp Fire Relief GoFundMe campaign “to bring back hope in the lives of our employees whose lives have been devastated.” The money will be used to help staff members find temporary housing and purchase necessities such as gas cards and clothing.

2. So far, the campaign has received 18 donations. The Ambulatory Surgery Center Association donated $2,500, and the California Orthopaedic Association donated $200.

3. Skyway Surgery Center Administrator Ray Hino is one staff member who lost his home in the fire. He now has to commute to work from Los Molinos, Calif., which is about 30 miles away.
