The average salary for physicians and surgeons decreased from 2017 to 2018, according to Medpage Today

Health Media surveyed more than 20,000 physicians, and 7,753 provided salary data. Survey Design & Analysis analyzed and reported the data.

Here are the overall salaries for healthcare professionals:

Physician/surgeon
2018: $250,000
2017: $258,039

Physician assistant
2018: $110,000
2017: $108,311

Nurse practitioner
2018: $109,000
2017: $102,523
