Pennsylvania Clinic Owner Sentenced for Involvement in $1.9M Fraud Scheme, Conspired With Chiropractor and One Other

 A co-owner of a chiropractic and rehabilitation facility in Hatfield, Pa., has been sentenced to six months in prison for his involvement with another co-owner and chiropractor in a scheme to defraud Independence Blue Cross, southeastern Pennsylvania’s largest health insurer, according to a Main Line Times report.

Michael Karp and Mark Levin, owners of Rehab One, and chiropractor Raymond Brozek, DC, admitted to submitting approximately $1.9 million in fraudulent bills to Independence Blue Cross, of which $400,000 was reimbursed to them.

Mr. Karp has been sentenced to six months in prison, 100 hours of community service each year for the next three years and ordered to pay restitution. Mr. Levin and Dr. Brozek have not yet been sentenced.
