Wilson Health establishes joint venture with Valley Regional Surgery Center — 3 insights

Sidney, Ohio-based Wilson Health plans to expand its outpatient care and surgical capacity through a joint venture with Piqua, Ohio-based Valley Regional Surgery Center.

Here’s what you should know:

1. Ohio Surgical Associates and physicians Robert McDevitt, MD, Andrew David McDonald, MD, Virgilio Ponferrada, MD, and John Wilding, DO, own Valley Regional Surgery Center.

2. After the transaction is finalized, Wilson Health surgeons will have the option to practice at Valley Regional Surgery Center alongside the current providers.

3. The 9,100-square-foot ASC opened in 1996.

“This partnership is a win for Wilson Health and for the community,” said Duane Francis, Wilson Health’s interim CEO. “Most importantly, it will create additional surgical capacity throughout the Wilson Health system, enabling us to better meet the needs of our patients now and in the future.”
