Quincy Medical Group proposes new surgery center — 4 insights

Quincy (Ill.) Medical Group filed an application with the state to build the Quincy Medical Group Surgery Center, WGEM News reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. The surgery center will have eight rooms.

2. Illinois’ Health Facilities and Services Review Board is expected to rule on the application in March 2019.

3. The expansion could begin as soon as 2020, if approved.

4. Quincy Medical Group CEO Carol Brockmiller said, “An additional surgery center in Quincy provides many benefits to our patients, employees and employers. … We believe this investment provides an opportunity to increase accessibility for surgeries, procedures and oncology treatment and provides a transformative facility to ensure that the highest level of care is available in our community.”
