Here’s what you should know:
1. The center expects to provide more than 700 individuals with free or low-cost cancer screening services with the grant.
2. The state health department awarded the grant as part of a larger effort to improve cancer screening efforts.
3. The grant will provide colorectal cancer screenings, mammograms, breast exams, pelvic exams and pap tests.
4. University of Rochester Medical Center CEO Mark Taubman, MD, said, “Finances should never be a barrier to care for any individual. We thank New York State through the support of Gov. Andrew Cuomo and our state senate and assembly for funding this important program, which provides patients throughout our region access to life-saving cancer screenings and treatments.”
