Here’s what you should know:
1. The 23,500-square-foot ASC will have more than 60 physicians offering a variety of surgical services, Mr. Lewis said in a LinkedIn post.
2. The new building is replacing a nearby, existing facility.
3. The project will cost an estimated $16,618,319, according to state documents.
4. In October 2017, Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center and Brentwood, Tenn.-based Surgery Partners submitted an application to build a new ASC in St. Charles and discontinue operations at the existing facility.
5. The application said the existing ASC wasn’t handicapped accessible, experienced electrical issues and had functionality issues relating to sterility, creating a need for a new location.
