Here are five things to know about Mr. Holden:
1. Before joining AmSurg, he was Plano, Texas-based Triad Hospitals’ senior vice president and division president. For five years, Mr. Holden held several officer positions with Nashville-based Columbia/HCA Healthcare Corporation.
2. Ernst & Young named Mr. Holden its “Entrepreneur of the Year for Healthcare” in 2016.
3. KKR announced plans to acquire AmSurg and Envision Healthcare in June for $9.9 billion. Through the acquisition, KKR will own about 300 ASCs in over 30 states.
4. “Envision’s leadership team — including both the board and management — have been singularly focused on driving value for our shareholders and have taken decisive action in furtherance of that goal, including the implementation of a comprehensive operational improvement plan and a robust review of strategic alternatives,” Mr. Holden said in a release about the acquisition. “Today’s announcement reflects the extensive efforts by our team to explore all opportunities to deliver value for our shareholders.”
