The report, written by the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America and endorsed by the IDSA, provides recommendations which apply to all healthcare professionals in all healthcare settings, regardless of whether or not the professional has direct patient contact or is directly employed by the facility.
The report, an update from the original statement issued in 2005, comes out as preparations begin for the 2010 flu season.
