Exact Sciences breaks ground on corporate headquarters site — 6 insights

Exact Sciences broke ground on a 138,000-square-foot headquarters in Madison, Wis., to unite a portion of its workforce.

Here’s what you should know:

1. The company expects the headquarters to be operational in 2020.

2. Exact had about 1,200 employees in the Madison area. The company grew exponentially since moving from Boston to Madison and now has more than 1,600 employees.

3. Exact is building its headquarters at Madison’s University Research Park. URP is hoping Exact will serve as a catalyst for development in the park.

4. The company is naming the headquarters Innovation One. The five-story building will be LEED-certified and will feature several environmentally-friendly elements.

5. The headquarters will be connected to Exact’s nearby research facility via a sky bridge.

6. Exact’s manufacturing facility will maintain a standalone structure.
