University of Maryland Shore Regional Health proposes $75M medical campus with ASC — 4 insights

Dorchester-based University of Maryland Shore Regional Health proposed a new $75 million medical campus in Cambridge, Md., Dorchester Star reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. Shore Health filed applications with the state’s Health Care Commission, seeking approval for the campus.

2. The campus will replace the UM Shore Medical Center at Dorchester with a freestanding medical facility.

3. The commission is expected to approve or deny the application in March 2019

4. The freestanding building would be 40,000 square feet and offer inpatient services. Beside the building would be a 50,000-square-foot medical pavilion. The ASC would be housed in the pavilion.
