10% of practicing physicians prefer to own their own practice, Medicus Firm reports

An academic practice setting appeals to about one-third of physicians in training, while nearly the same percent of practicing physicians prefer a single-specialty group or partnership, according to The Medicus Firm 2018 Physician Practice Preference & Relocation Survey.

The Medicus Firm surveyed 2,219 medical professionals, including physicians and advanced practice clinicians in several specialties.

In training: 21.9 percent
In practice: 32 percent

Multispecialty group/partnership
