The whistleblower center cited several examples of such situations. In April, the DOJ settled a case with Phoenix-based Banner Health. The health system agreed to pay $18 million to settle allegations it knowingly admitted patients who could have been treated in the outpatient space.
The center is seeking tips from hospitals, rehabilitation centers, hospice providers, pharmaceutical companies, nursing homes and in-home care companies.
