Allergan snags former Abbott exec for board — 4 insights

Allergan appointed Thomas Freyman to its board of directors to replace departing board member Patrick O’Sullivan.

Here’s what you should know:

1. Mr. Freyman is Abbott Laboratories’ former executive vice president of finance and administration.

2. He has more than 40 years of healthcare and financial experience.

3. Mr. Freyman retired from Abbott in 2017. He held several positions with the company and worked to refocus its business portfolio. Allergan is in the midst of analyzing its current business in an effort to increase shareholder value.

4. Mr. Freyman will replace Mr. O’Sullivan on the board. Mr. O’Sullivan joined the board in October 2013 and will retire in July.
