Georgia hospital opens outpatient surgery center — 4 insights

Canton, Ga.-based Northside Hospital Cherokee opened an outpatient surgery center in Woodstock, Ga., March 13, Patch reports.

Here’s what you should know.

1. The 18,000-square-foot surgery center offers orthopedics, general surgery, ophthalmology and ENT services.

2. The center features three operating rooms and a procedure room for ophthalmology cases.

3. Since the hospital opened in May 2017, it has seen a 14-percent increase in outpatient surgeries, prompting the construction of the surgery center.

4. Northside Hospital Cherokee’s Director of Operations Katie Pearson said, “Opening the new surgery center in [Woodstock] allows us to meet the growing healthcare demand in the region and make Northside’s high-level surgical services more convenient for our patients and surgeons in South Cherokee and Cobb counties.”
