Here are five things to know about Interscope.
1. Boston-based otolaryngologist Ramon A. Franco Jr., MD, and Jeffery Ryan Jr. co-founded the company. Dr. Franco serves as chief scientific officer and Mr. Ryan is President and CEO.
2. Interscope’s proprietary EndoRotor System is intended for alimentary tract mucosa removal in gastrointestinal and colorectal surgery.
3. The EndoRotor’s rotating blade cuts tissue that is drawn into the device via suction. The sample is then transported through suction to a specimen trap.
4. The technology received FDA 510(k) clearance in 2017 for use by gastroenterologists to resect and remove residual tissue from the peripheral margins following endoscopic mucosal resection.
5. EndoRotor also received CE Mark approval for resection of alimentary tract mucosa.
