Here are three things to know.

1. The service can be accessed in the Amazon Alexa Skills Store or by saying, “Alexa, enable Answers by Cigna.”

2. A 2017 health literacy survey revealed 20 percent of respondents didn’t understand the word “premium” and 66 percent didn’t understand “formulary.” Cigna said people are less likely to take full advantage of their benefits if they don’t understand the language used in healthcare plans.

3. During a digital health hackathon in February, Cigna awarded a $5,000 cash prize to a team that developed a concept allowing customers to ask Alexa about their personal healthcare coverage.
