1. Dr. Wittig is being recognized for his contributions to sarcoma cancer research, treatment and advocacy.
2. Dr. Wittig is the vice chairman of orthopedic surgery at Hackensack (N.J.) University Medical Center. Throughout his career, he has actively treated pediatric and adult patients with sarcomas, benign bone, soft tissue tumors and metastatic cancers.
3. Dr. Wittig is also a leader in sarcoma research, authoring both articles and books on the topic.
