Cary Skin Center now offering Mohs surgery

Cary (N.C.) Skin Center will begin offering patients Mohs surgery for melanoma in situ.

Here’s what you should know.

1. The procedure is less expensive and invasive than a traditional surgical approach. It also reduces the cancer’s recurrence rate.

2. A melanoma in situ can be removed and reconstruction can be completed within a day using the procedure.

3. Center surgeons Adam Ingraffea, MD, and Elias Emily Ayli, DO, are both trained to perform the procedure.

4. They each completed two-year training programs and have become fellows of the American College of Mohs Surgery.
