EVP customer relations retiring from The Joint Commission — 3 notes

Ann Scott Blouin, RN, PhD, is retiring from The Joint Commission April 13. Cheryl Hoying, RN, PhD, will succeed her as chief nurse executive and executive vice president of customer relations. Here are three notes.

1. Dr. Hoying previously served as senior vice president of patient services at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, where she helped decrease serious harm to patients by 85 percent.

2. Dr. Hoying begins her role March 5, and Dr. Blouin will assist with a smooth transition before her departure.

3. After 10 years working for The Joint Commission, Dr. Blouin will remain involved with the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement board of directors.
