Several hospitalized after car crashes into Mississippi surgery center — 4 things to know

A truck crashed into the Jackson, Miss.-based EyeCare Surgery Center Feb. 19, sending five people to the hospital, according to WAPT News. Here are four things to know:

1. Four people sustained injuries that weren’t considered severe. A fifth reported chest pains.

2. The driver said her brakes failed when she tried to avoid hitting another car.

3. A surgery center spokesperson estimated that eight people were in the waiting room at the time of the crash.

4. The surgical facility, which opened in 2013, was heavily damaged.
