Severe weather closes 3 surgery centers, 105 other organizations for 1 day in Georgia — 4 insights

As snow blankets the southern U.S., three surgery centers in Savannah, Ga., and surrounding suburban areas announced they’d close for the day Jan. 3, WDAM reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. Savannah-based Georgia Eye Institute closed its 12 clinical locations including Savannah-based Georgia Eye Institute Surgery Center and Glennville (Ga.) Eye Surgery Center.

2. Savannah-based Schulze Eye and Surgery Center also announced it would close for the day.

3. The surgery centers join 105 other businesses, medical facilities and city organizations that were shut down by the storm.

4. It’s anticipated that both centers will reopen Jan. 4.
