Here are four notes:
1. Mr. Kaufmann will also join Cardinal Health’s board of directors.
2. He is succeeding George Barrett, who has been Cardinal Health’s CEO and chairman for the past eight years. Mr. Barrett will take on the board of director’s executive chairman position through the annual shareholders meeting in November 2018.
3. Mr. Kaufmann’s Cardinal Health career has spanned 27 years, serving in various financial roles as well as within Cardinal Health’s pharmaceutical and medical segments.
4. Jorge Gomez, the company’s current SVP and CFO of the Cardinal Health’s medical segment, will succeed Mr. Kaufmann as CFO.
