Dr. Paul fractured five ribs and suffered a lung contusion in the attack. An advisor to Dr. Paul said although the pain could persist for several months, Dr. Paul would return to the Senate soon, Bowling Green Daily News reports.
Dr. Boucher was released from Warren County Regional Jail after posting a $7,500 bond Nov. 4.

1. According to Doximity, Dr. Boucher was an anesthesiologist and pain management specialist at the Medical Center at Bowling Green (Ky.).
2. He earned his medical degree from Des Moines (Iowa) University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a residency at San Francisco-based Letterman Army Medical Center.
3. According to WAVE 3 News, Dr. Boucher retired in February 2015.
4. Bowling Green Daily News reports Dr. Boucher invented a product called the Therm-a-Vest. The vest is filled with rice and can be used to alleviate back pain through heat therapy. Dr. Boucher marketed the device through QVC, a television shopping channel.
5. Dr. Boucher could face up to 12 months in jail, but Warren County Attorney Amy Milliken said more charges could be filed based on Mr. Paul’s injuries.
