GI leader to know: Dr. Ravi Mallavarapu of Cedar Valley Gastroenterology

Ravi Mallavarapu, MD, is a gastroenterologist at Waterloo, Iowa-based Cedar Valley Gastroenterology.

Dr. Mallavarapu earned his medical degree from Andhra Pradesh, India-based Kurnool Medical College. He completed two residencies, one at Dehradun, India-based H. Institute Hospital Trust and the other at University of Chicago. He also completed a fellowship at Chicago-based St. Luke’s Medical Center.

He is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.

Dr. Mallavarapu specializes in inflammatory bowel disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease, liver disease and colon cancer.

Outside of his practice, he enjoys traveling, biking and spending time with his family.
