Here are four things to know:
1. MEDARVA, the parent company of Richmond-based Stony Point Surgery Center, waited nearly two years to gain certificate-of-public-need approval from state officials.
2. MEDARVA West Creek Surgery Center is currently 6,600 square feet. MEDARVA expects to open the second phase of the center by the end of 2017. When completed, the surgery center will encompass 25,000 square feet.
3. The surgery center will offer ophthalmology, ENT, gastroenterology, facial and plastic surgery, orthopedics and gynecology services.
4. The ASC has CMS accreditation.
