Here’s what you should know:
1. WFSA is attempting to raise awareness of the worldwide lack of resources and training for anesthesiologists.
2. A survey of anesthesiologists claimed there are approximately less than five providers for every 100,000 people. WFSA said more than 136,000 providers would be needed to reach that goal.
3. WFSA hopes the initiative stirs up support for anesthesiology, in an attempt to gain awareness and funding.
