Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center nurse anesthesia program celebrates 75 years

Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center is celebrating the 75th anniversary of its nurse anesthetist program.

Here’s what you should know:

1. The program was founded in 1942 and has graduated more than 900 students.

2. U.S. News & World Report ranked the program among the top 10 nurse anesthesia programs in the country.

3. Program Director Michael Rieker, DNP, CRNA, said in a release, “In addition to demonstrating a passion for delivering world-class patient care, students who enroll in our program are determined to be involved in service learning and global outreach. We combine established excellence with innovative education to produce graduates who become leaders in our communities and around the world.”
