Coastal Orthopedics’ Dr. Peter Ramsey recognized for outpatient THR work — 4 key notes

Here’s what you should know:

1. Dr. Ramsey said Coastal Orthopedics began performing outpatient total joint replacement surgeries because of the minimally invasive nature of the procedure.

2. The patient on whom Dr. Ramsey performed the total hip procedure reported being pain free and “100 percent better.”

3. Coastal Orthopedics is one of South Carolina’s longest established orthopedic practices.

4. Dr. Ramsey is Conway Medical Center’s joint replacement program director. He joined Coastal Orthopedics in 2009. He completed an adult reconstruction and joint replacement fellowship at Alexandria, Va.-based Anderson Orthopaedic Research Institute.
