With a nursing career spanning 60 years, Tupelo-based North Mississippi Medical Center Ambulatory Surgery Center’s Betty Reedy, RN, is still practicing at 81 years old, according to The Clarion-Ledger.

2. As a full-time nurse, Ms. Reedy enjoys spending time in the preoperative area where she can converse with patients.

3. The nursing field has evolved throughout her career as there was less personnel available to cover a variety of tasks, according to Ms. Reedy. When Ms. Reedy started her career in the 1950s, surgical supplies were mainly made of stainless steel.
