GI leader to know: Dr. Sumanth Daram of Augusta University

Sumanth Daram, MD, is a gastroenterologist at Augusta-based Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University.

He specializes in interventional gastroenterology.

Dr. Daram earned his medical degree from Hyderabad, India-based Osmania Medical College. He completed his residency at St. Louis University School of Medicine. He served as Milwaukee-based St. Joseph Hospital’s medical director before completing a gastroenterology fellowship at Jackson-based University of Mississippi. He also completed a therapeutic endoscopy fellowship at Chicago-based Northwestern University.

Dr. Daram is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American Gastroenterological Association.

He has published more than 40 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters.
