New York medical groups team up to offer plastic surgery residency — 3 insights

East Meadow, N.Y.-based Nassau University Medical Center, Stony Brook (N.Y.) Medicine and Long and Garden City, N.Y.-based Long Island Plastic Surgical Group have partnered to offer a plastic surgery residency program, Long Island Business News reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. The three healthcare groups will oversee the joint residency program. The residents will receive training from all three groups with 20 plastic surgeons overseeing the process.

2. The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education approved the joint residency.

3. A spokesperson for Long Island Plastic Surgical Group said, “This partnership between a county hospital, a university medical center and private practice represents an innovative approach to training the next generation of life-changing plastic surgeons.”
