Here’s what you should know:
1. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said, “Regretfully, it is now apparent that the effort to repeal and immediately replace the failure of Obamacare will not be successful.”
2. Sens. Mike Lee, R-Utah, Jerry Moran, R-Kan., Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Rand Paul, R-Ky., all came out against the bill.
3. Mr. Moran was upset the bill didn’t fully repeal the ACA. He also took issue with the bill’s closed door development.
4. Mr. Lee said the bill didn’t “go far enough in lowering premiums for middle class families.” He also argued the bill didn’t “create enough free space” from ACA regulations.
5. Mr. Paul and Ms. Collins have been against the bill since it was announced.
