Citizens Memorial Hospital ASC hosts nursing students: 5 notes

Bolivar (Mo.) Technical College practical nursing and registered nursing students spent time this summer at Citizens Memorial Hospital’s facilities to acquire nursing experience, according to Bolivar News.

Here are five notes:

1. The students got hands-on experience at the hospital’s ASC, catheter lab and emergency room.

2. The students underwent IV certification training before clinicals.

3. Throughout the summer, students administered medication, provided care and performed other duties under a clinical instructor’s supervision.  

4. Citizens Memorial Hospital ASC houses four operating rooms, two endoscopy rooms and recovery and support areas.

5. The ASC providers offer orthopedic, general surgery, ophthalmology, otolaryngology and gynecology services.
